Local 2031 to Launch New Peer Support Group
Local 2031 leadership will be starting a Peer Support Group for members which will be held in the plant. The goal of the group will be for members to provide peer support to their fellow members during times of need. This will be an open topic group, where members can discuss issues in their lives or within their family lives relating to health and wellness, including but not limited to; family or personal illness, drug addiction, alcohol addiction or any other issues that are non-work related. There will be periodic access to the UAW Chaplin and EAP representative for assistance/guidance within these meetings however the focus will be on member to member support. This is a 100% judgment free group where everyone’s thoughts and feelings will be respected. We will be posting the date and time for the first meeting in the next few weeks. Confidentiality will be expected amongst all who attend.
