Here’s a quick update on what Dorothy Harper and Teresa MacDonald, Local 2256 Chaplains, have been up to lately!

Dorothy has been staying active in her church and continues to serve in a lot of meaningful ways. She teaches Sunday School every third Sunday and helps at the altar on the second and fourth Sunday. She’s also been faithfully praying for people. Recently, she even received a sweet note from someone at church thanking her for her prayers, which was really encouraging.

She’s also been doing visits with other church members, spending time with people in their homes and in nursing homes. Things slowed down a bit during the winter, but she still made sure to stay connected by praying over requests from the prayer box at BCBSM.

Dorothy has also been reaching out beyond her usual circles. She had a chance to talk with a coworker about what chaplaincy is all about and invited her to join Bible study and prayer times at church. On top of that, she just started a new class focused on becoming a better Sunday School teacher. It kicked off about a week ago and is currently focused on Christianity. It’s great to see her continuing to grow and learn, especially with support from her church helping cover most of the cost.

Teresa and Dorothy also recently came together in prayer for a situation involving someone close to Teresa. It’s encouraging to share that things turned around and the outcome was positive.

It’s been great to see how both Dorothy and Teresa continue to serve, pray, and support others in their everyday lives. If you need assistance or want more information regarding Chaplaincy, please contact Dorothy Harper.
